CSUR 2017 AGM - NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the membership of the Canadian Society for Unconventional Resources (CSUR) will be held in the Cardium Room at the Calgary Petroleum Club, 319 – 5th Avenue SW on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 11:00am to 12:00pm for the following purposes: 

To review audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2016
To approve the proposed slate of the Board of Directors
To appoint the financial auditor for the ensuing year

CSUR board director Bill Whitelaw, CEO of JWN Energy, recently gave a series of presentations in Poland, Hungary and Croatia on Canadian energy investment opportunities. As part of his presentations, for the Canadian government, he discussed the important work organizations like CSUR do on behalf of the industry as a whole and their members in particular.

CSUR is pleased to be able to present its second annual induced seismicity workshop.  Following the overwhelming success of last year's session, CSUR plans to utilize the format that was employed last November.  This day long workshop will incorporate sessions conducted by government, academics, the service sector and the operators themselves along with extensive Q & A periods for each session. This event will allow attendees the opportunity to hear from experts involved in key areas of research and development on induced seismicity in both Alberta and British Columbia.  In addition operators will describe their utilization of micro seismic arrays for reservoir management as well as mitigation strategies for seismic events.
